A musical built from existing popular songs, usually by one artist or from one era.
A jukebox musical takes songs the audience already knows and builds a story around them. Some tell the life of the artist who made them famous; others invent a new story that happens to fit the songs. They are often a friendly first musical for people who are not sure the form is for them, because the music is already familiar.
